Join us for Reefcare’s first meeting of the month on Saturday, 1 February, where we’ll kick off another rewarding day of bush regeneration. Your efforts play a vital role in preserving the unique ecosystem of Long Reef.
Planned Activities
Removing kikuyu grass from the southern side of the clearing line established in December on the eastern dunes (running east-west).
Clearing non-native pig's face on the upper slope and progressively moving westward, aiming to clear the area through to the gully.
Addressing a persistent patch of Turkey rhubarb under an acacia, which has required ongoing effort for the past five months. Follow-up work is essential, as remnants were still present during our last visit.
Work plans may vary depending on the weather. If it’s hot, we’ll prioritise tasks in breezier areas to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety.
Thank you for your dedication to conserving Long Reef's ecosystem - we can’t wait to see you there!
